Every other member of our family felt old when our nearly-sixteen-year-old daughter asked ‘what’s an internet café?’ She, of course can’t remember a time when every coffee shop didn’t as a matter of course have super-fast broadband. And what’s the problem if they don’t? There’s 4g on my ‘phone. So will even-faster 5g be the end of the world as we know it? Did cinema kill the theatre? Did TV kill cinema? Has the internet killed TV? Not yet. And, guess what? People still read books.
