The next crash/recession/end-of-the-financial-world-as-we-know-it is coming. That’s what economist Ann Pettifor, who apparently predicted the last one, told Jeremy Vine. And, yes, she’s right, another one always arrives and always will; problem is, no-one knows when. From 1982, then-famous pundit Bob Beckman predicted, year after year, the crash that finally came in 1987. The Tech Bubble was easy to spot once it had burst. Why didn’t we all see what The Big Short guy saw coming in 2007? And why do weather forecasters spend most of their bulletins telling what the weather is already doing? I rest my case.
