Don’t you just love the way survey results can be used for any headline you like? The spin here could just as easily be ’60% of advisers are seeing more or just as many new clients despite Covid’. At the risk of upsetting fellow advisers who are ’suffering’, most don’t try too hard to find new clients and many, if other surveys are to be believed, are cruising to retirement. If you still want to grow your business, the message is the same in all industries/businesses/professions. Move with the times. Get a decent website. Use social media. Embrace rocket science. Or, in the words of Soft Cell (kids etc.), ‘Say Hello, Wave Goodbye’.
“Britain has lost 435 financial advice firms since 2022”
Headline figures, there were over 200,000 financial advisers at the end of the ’90s, there are around 30,000 now and our numbers are continuing to reduce.
