My journey west to find the Coast Path was the first proper test for my electric car. And here’s the thing: the charging network is rubbish. First stop, Gloucester Services to check things out, not working, so on to the next services for a quick Zap. OK. Exeter Services, a queue of half a dozen, tried to be clever and go off piste, tried 3 others, no go. Hotel’s charging station, not working. I now have four different apps for four different charging companies, only one of which worked. I’ve made friends with other EV drivers, all with the same moans. And feel like I’m on first name terms with most staff at the ghastly Exeter Services. Sort it out, please, Boris.
