We’re happy, it seems for the French to own our electricity companies, the Chinese to build our nuclear power plants, the Germans, Indians and Americans to take over our car industry and the Russians and a large selection of Arab states to own most of Central London. Yet when a British company takes over a British company, albeit one which ‘made cannonballs for the Battle of Waterloo’, it’s the ‘unacceptable face of capitalism’?
