‘Big Tech’ firms are as evil and vilified by many as ‘Big Pharma’. Apple, Facebook, Amazon, Microsoft and Google have changed the world. But they’re so big now that they stand accused of (at the reasonable end of the argument) of having too much power and not using it wholly responsibly, exploiting workers and raping Africa to mine cobalt; to (at the other, nutters-online end) of plotting world domination and planting microchips in Covid vaccines (yes, really). Yet their shares, like those of those Big Pharma companies are held by many ‘ethical and sustainable’ funds. That’s changing and they’re no longer in the top ten holdings of most of those we recommend. And will have to work hard to get back in. If they’re bothered.
