Be careful what you wish for…

Berlin has a lot of history, most of it recent. Flattened, divided, reunited and now (nearly) rebuilt, its current, biggest building site is costing €700 million, of which €600 million is from the government. So the new architecture (and it’s nearly all new, see above) it’s mostly beautiful and built to last. That and great public transport make for a young, thriving, dynamic (and grey, but that could’ve been the weather and German food) city.

Germans want and need the EU, not to rob us all blind but because they’ve seen so much of the alternative. I’d say. But obviously not  everyone’s happy; the far right now have 97 seats in their parliament. Brexiteers dreaming of a return to the days of Downton, be careful what you wish for.
