“Boris Johnson admits Brexit deal is limited for financial services”

So the deal was done while we weren’t celebrating Christmas. Some will be happier than others, none, apart from IDS and JRM, ecstatic. Apparently, the word “fish” appears 368 times in the deal, over four times more than “financial services”, despite financial services supporting 1.1 million jobs and fishing just 12,000. It won’t, in reality, matter that much. Most banks and investment houses wanting to do business in the EU have already moved their HQs elsewhere, or can easily do so. And we financial advisers already have far more regulation and red tape than our Euro equivalents. Business as usual, then, as we Zoom into 2021. It’s just going on holiday that will be more complicated. In so many ways.
