I’m reading a book called ‘Transcription’ by Kate Atkinson, set in 1940’s London, and highly recommended. A couple of quotes jumped out at me, apropos of nothing at all: ‘Juliet could remember when Hitler had seemed like a clown. “The clowns are always the dangerous ones” Perry said’; and ‘”Do not equate nationalism with patriotism… Nationalism is the first step on the road to Fascism'”‘. Although Winston Churchill is, of course, BoJo’s hero and role-model.
