Anyone of a certain age will remember taking empty light ale bottles back to the off licence, or handing last week’s lemonade bottles back to the Corona man. Kids etc. Perhaps this return to the Golden Age of Recycling is a sign of what we’ll be able to achieve for the environment without those busy-bodies in Brussels. I suspect, however, that the paperwork and bureaucracy that the ‘DRS for England and Wales’ will generate will make us long for the Golden Age of the European Commission.
