I was chatting to friend who’s worked in the electricity industry whole career, first in what now seem its glorious nationalised days, then, with privatisation, its merger and  sale to the French. And now, a surprise to me, it’s owned, along with significant other chunks of our infrastructure, by the Chinese. Many (well, Ann Widdecombe) seem to fear enslavement by the EU. I’d say the fact that others rather further east could soon have us by the proverbial MSGs is perhaps  more to be feared.
