“Competition, not break-up, is the cure for tech giants’ dominance”

So how do we control the www and the (now very) few ’tech giants’ who, basically, control it. Two different approaches have been mooted this week. Putin wants to follow the China model and use his army of hackers to censor it. The kids are protesting, but I don’t think he’ll give a tinker’s cuss (to use a Cheltenham expression) about that. We’re looking at the same highly successful model used with our electricity, gas and telecoms of allowing all sorts of companies you’ve never heard of and never will hear of again to briefly compete with BT & Co. then disappear. But then, of course, we’re a democracy.
