Here, for a change, is an example of long-term thinking, from aforementioned fund management giants Schroders. It makes total sense to give those whose days are anyway spent at workstations in front of computers, the option to sit in front of a computer where the heck they want. Some crave the escape from home, many hate the hours on train and tube and lunches at Pret. And it’s pretty easy to see and check what they have and haven’t done. I’d predict less, rather than more work-time holiday-booking and porn-viewing will be the result, and, for the right businesses, a little trust will lead to an all round win-win.
