If you borrow £500 and miss a payment, men in black t-shirts will break down the door and cart off your TV and stereo. If you borrow a few £billion, it’s the bankers who lose their tellies. You, of course, would never personally owe any money. Even your telly is probably owned by your gardener’s sister-in-law in the Cayman Islands. And, just to be clear, David Cameron did nothing wrong, it was all just friendly banter by text with Rishi and over a drink with Matt Hancock.
