Don’t you often fell you can see far further beyond the end of your nose than the bosses of the companies of which you’re supposed to be a customer? What would you buy in Debs or House of Fraser these days, apart from emergency Christmas perfume? Who can be bothered to  walk up a dingy staircase to find the ‘Are You Being Served’ (kids etc)-style menswear department? Yes, there are more desperately awful shops in need of a major makeover on our high streets – Boots and WH Smiths, I’m looking at you. But at least you sort-of know what they sell. But their days and those of many others are deservedly numbered I’d say.
