Last week’s referendum was the first time I could exercise my right to vote as a newly-adopted Irish citizen. It’s result means that the Irish Question will continue to dog the current government, just as it has many of its predecessors, and could yet be its downfall.
It would be crazy for women from the North to have to travel to the South to exercise their human right to abortion, just it would be to try to set up a ‘hard border’ following a ‘hard Brexit’. The DUP, on whom T. May relies to stay in power, refuse to compromise on either. Could see J Corbyn in No.10 by the end of the year after all. Worth an each-way at Paddy Powers, I’d say.
