Here’s a rather more welcome government u-turn. The increase in probate fees has been proposed a couple of times now. I’d guess they thought they’d get it in below the radar and were unprepared for the outrage it would cause with the ‘death tax label almost as damaging as May’s ‘Alzheimers Tax’ in the last election. Wouldn’t be surprised, though, to see it return if any future government ever has a majority…
