So it’s not just our utilities and much of Central London which are now in Chinese ownership; they’ve snapped up quite a few of our pubs. Great, big chunk of cash into our economy, who needs the EU? But if, as seems to be the case, we don’t want so many immigrants, why are we happy for so much of our infrastructure and even our precious pubs to be in foreign ownership? Far more potential problems brewing there (pardon the pun), I’d say, than those likely to be caused by Romanian care workers or Bulgarian car-washers.
“Donald Trump is winning. Business, beware”
There’s a perception that whatever might be the consequences for the rest of the world, Trump as President should be good for business. Surely, as a business man himself, he’d be the friend of Corporate America, and everything, money-making-wise, went pretty well last time around didn’t it?
