Neil Woodford: ‘superstar’ fund manager

Neil Woodford is a ‘superstar’ fund manager, who was right about a lot of things when he ran funds for Invesco Perpetual. He famously didn’t invest in .com companies in 1999 or banks from 2006 and outdid most others through two stockmarket crashes. He now runs his own UK Equity fund, and things haven’t gone quite so well for him recently. Maybe no surprise, then, that he’s very positive about the prospects for shares. Is he ever likely to tell the punters that he thinks our stockmarket is going to tank? I don’t think so. But then, as I say, he’s been right about a lot of things…
