“Plastic waste rises as 1.5bn ‘bags for life’ sold, research finds”

When we go shopping, we’re buying a new Bag for Life every week. Many of us would rather turn around and drive several miles home again if they’ve forgotten their BFLs, rather than pay 10p for a new one. So this must mean that some cupboards-under-the-stairs are hiding hundreds of the things and for these careless shoppers, they add a not-noticed or not-cared-about .5% to their weekly shopping bills. Who’s saving the planet. Answers on a recycled something, please.
