In those lazy, hazy days of Lockdown 1, we walked by the beautiful River Windrush most days. Our puppy had a paddle and a dip most days. Her tummy troubles were explained when we heard the rumours of sewage dumping by Thames Water, now, a couple of years on, hitting the press. Amazingly, they were fined £20m for the same thing in 2017; lot of good that did. If you follow the money, they made a profit of £98m in 2020, which turned into a loss of £110m last year. Who owns them? Abu Dhabi, Kuwait and China. Make of that what you will.
