Had a couple of interesting conversations recently. One with a conspiracy-theory-believer, who’s been convinced that everything and everybody in power has their strings pulled by a few, super-rich persons of no fixed abode or nationality. Another with an Exeter alumni who lives in Switzerland and hunts money-launderers. He told me he’s closed down six banks in as many years. Is there a connection? Or would that be just another, crazy conspiracy theory?

Are workers working from home more or less productive than those catching the 7.02am to London Bridge every day? ‘Probably sitting at home in their bleedin’ jim-jams’, said someone recently of a less-than-helpful call centre employee, the assumption being that, were they surrounded by colleagues and with a manager cracking the whip, he or she would have sorted his energy bill more efficiently.
