“The pandemic has caused the world’s economies to diverge”

Far from bringing the world together, The Virus is dividing us; economically that is. China got rid of it first (the power of dictatorship, take note, Boris and Dom) and relies on making stuff in factories where social distancing is easier (or, more likely, they don’t bother). America has most money and most of the tech companies. Europe doesn’t have much at all and will take years to catch up again. The Economist article, weirdly, doesn’t so much as mention This Sceptered Isle. Or maybe I didn’t read it to the (bitter) end.

There’s a perception that whatever might be the consequences for the rest of the world, Trump as President should be good for business. Surely, as a business man himself, he’d be the friend of Corporate America, and everything, money-making-wise, went pretty well last time around didn’t it?
