“UK launches green savings bonds”

Considering how much noise they make about other (in particular green) stuff, this government launch slipped rather below the radar. Their Green Bonds aren’t offering mouth-watering interest rates, but I guess the point is to make you feel good for the £65 a year which your £10,000 will be earning. I’d guess that if you’re a project on the other end of this trying to get funding government Green Bond funding, there’ll be endless, mindless hoops through which to jump. But it’s a start, and if banks and building societies start to compete, a potential jolly good thing.
