Unravelling the ethical jargon

The jargon surrounding what used to just be ‘ethical investments’ can be confusing, so we’ve developed our own diet-related guidelines:

ESG (environmental, social, governance) = Farm Assured. At worst, can invest in companies which do nasty things, provided they save energy and don’t use slave labour

Sustainable +/or Responsible = Pescatarian.  Invest in companies which do things that could benefit the world. Can include tech and pharma which some might say aren’t great.

Ethical + Sustainable = Vegetarian. Look for companies doing good things and exclude the baddies.

Ethical + Sustainable + Positive Impact = The full vegan. All of the above + detailed analysis.

There’s a lot more to it, of course, we always look under the bonnet, and love to mix our metaphors. But hope that helps.
