History is full of failed solo careers. Gary was never the same without Take That, it hasn’t gone well for Change UK and might not for Scotland without GB. Neil Woodford was a superstar fund manager with major player Invesco, so left and set up his own company. All went well, fans followed him but after the investment equivalent of a couple of non-hit singles, he’s been ditched by investors and had to sell shares he’d rather keep. Perhaps the grass wasn’t so green over the fence after all.
There is a school of thought which might say that, should you wish to revive and encourage investment in the UK Stockmarket, a starting point might be the reversal of Brexit.
What next is a much better couple (or more) of years ahead. If you have investments, you’ll have seen a pretty sharp ‘uptick’ since November after a pretty sharp ‘not much happening or going down’ since the beginning of 2022.
