Here’s a post-Brexit revenue-boosting opportunity for Rishi, Boris, Dom & Co. Apparently, selling your country’s passport to any dodgy highest-bidder is a thing in, for instance, Malta and Cyprus; but, bizarrely, frowned upon by the rest of the EU. Come 1st Jan, we’ll be free of those shackles. So, buy a flat in Mayfair or failing football club, bung a few £m in appropriate coffers, and you’re in. If we’re worried any unconvicted mafiosi or former dictators might get up to dodgy stuff, a few tweaks to Track and Trace should surely guarantee we can keep an eye on them..
