Here’s a warning of the consequences of a hard-line immigration policy, and a comeuppance, at least of a a sort, for the Saudi regime. It turns out that, yes, your ‘own’ population are not so keen to take up all the low-paid vacancies left when you throw out your cheap labour. And that it’s not just those you want to get rid of who leave if you establish a Theresa May-style ‘hostile environment’. Lesson learned? I doubt it.
