One of my predictions last year about which I hoped and prayed I’d be wrong, was that we’d be stuck with both Boris and Trump until 2024. When speaking to an old uni-friend, now both US resident and citizen, last night, I said that I hadn’t spoken to any American who either liked Trump or wanted him as president. He said that, despite Covid, a) Trump’s core supporters have probably never spoken to a foreigner and b) there are enough who dislike him but would never vote ‘Blue’ (which would, confusingly be ‘Red’ over here) to see him in. Still. Might be good for the stock market. He said, desperately clutching a straw.

Here’s the flip side. Should a business not have the right to choose whom it serves? If you as a client, or more likely potential client, rub us up the wrong way, are a declared anti-vaxxer or support the barges, can we not, as a business, say ‘Be Gone’?
