And here we go, round in further circles, with the government in the first stages of yet more prevarication as there are just too many bullets to be bitten here. We don’t need a ‘Social Care ISA’ to encourage people to save for their dotage. Those that aren’t already still won’t. We already have ‘National Insurance’, which was supposed to do this anyway but has become, over the years, just another tax, and not ‘the stamp’ of years gone by (kids etc.). Sorry, but either NI reverts to purpose (cradle to grave care) or we pay more tax or both. There are and never have been any easy answers to this one. Apart from kicking the can down the road for the next minister to sort out.
