At the end of the ’80s, there were over 100,000 ‘financial advisers’, merrily (or often not so merrily) cold-calling to flog pensions and life insurance to the masses. Many a butcher, baker and candlestick-maker was persuaded to make their fortune in the heady world of finance, and found after a week or two that candlestick-making was a better bet after all. Now there are only a fraction of us left, we’re all a tad better qualified but getting older. So it seems that M&G, aka The Pru, are going back to basics to recruit more Men From. Another full circle?
“Letter of authority: Why now is the right time for change”
