It’s the economic consequences of war and pestilence, rather than the devastation and plague themselves that now have the (non-Wagatha) headlines. It’s oil of both kinds and wheat from Russia and Ukraine, and just about everything else, as China makes just about everything else and is locked down. However, both here and in America there are jobs-aplenty and apparently not enough unemployed to fill them, with the jobless (horrible word) at their lowest since 1974, when unions ruled the earth. So prices are going up but we should all be earning enough to pay them. In theory. That’s economics for you.
