In Thatcher’s ‘80s, thousands of redundant miners and steel workers were told to reskill and train for ‘the jobs of the future. That was OK for their kids and grandkids, who ended up in call centres or with banks relocating for cheap labour. But steel to ‘your call is important’ is even more difficult than pas-de-deux to cyber security. Here’s the flip side. Should a business not have the right to choose whom it serves? If you as a client, or more likely potential client, rub us up the wrong way, are a declared anti-vaxxer or support the barges, can we not, as a business, say ‘Be Gone’?
