There was some good (unless you’re the Daily Express) Brexit news this week. Over the years, we’ve become a centre for testing and approving new drugs, most of which are developed in the US, and most of the big pharma companies used the UK as a jumping off point for licensing these for Europe and the rest of the world. This would all have stopped if we didn’t stay part of the European Medicines Agency. Trouble is, as in financial services, much of the damage has already been done as the big boys (who can afford to do so) have opened new offices in other countries, just in case.
