A celebrated film critic famously says that ‘Jaws’ is not a film about a shark; though many would say that the shark has a pretty big role in it. Maybe they’re wrong as, apparently, the promise of a big spending after Brexit in leave-supporting towns is nothing to do with Brexit. Neither is Honda’s exit from the UK. And the rise in violence is nothing to do with policing cuts. In fact, I heard an ‘expert’ on the radio today say that to cut knife crime, we don’t need more policeman as metal-detecting radar could do the job! What? Maybe I’ll wake up and find it was all just a dream.
