It’s become a topsy-turvey world, and we can’t blame it all on Covid. The nearest thing Labour has to a stronghold now seems to be in London and the South East. And the CBI, once the bastions of Maggie-ism, are putting forward what could be a Blair-style election manifesto: education, employee benefits, level up, invest in the future, no austerity. A grand plan, they call it. Let’s hope nettles are grasped before Boris’s wedding plans take over the No.10 agenda.

There’s a perception that whatever might be the consequences for the rest of the world, Trump as President should be good for business. Surely, as a business man himself, he’d be the friend of Corporate America, and everything, money-making-wise, went pretty well last time around didn’t it?
