When I heard that Iceland’s (the shop, not the country, ha ha) ad was banned for it’s controversial, environmental and political message, my first reaction, I’m ashamed to say, was that their usual target demographic would not recognise a controversial, environmental and political message if it leapt off page 3 of The Sun and slapped them on the face. However, their ad will now be viewed on YouTube and elsewhere by more people of more demographics than any of their previous ads. So perhaps a clever lesson in how to both Save the Planet and increase profits.
