This is so counter-intuitive. You’d expect the tech companies to be most switched on (pardon the you-know-what) and attuned to remote working. Shouldn’t the spin-off be less need for expensive office space, beanbags, yoga rooms, ping pong and all the other stuff Google & Co provide for their ‘colleagues’ (don’t think you can say ‘staff’ these days). Instead, they’re going to pay them less for working at home. All rather Animal Farm, so-called ‘flat’ management styles meaning all are equal but some are more equal than other. Isn’t corporate life wonderful.
