It seemed a little weird to wear a tie on Zoom meetings, although we never stooped to the lockdown hoodie and T-shirt wearing adopted by many. We agonised before going open neck for the guys in our new website photos; and although I started tie-less in face-to-face meetings, it seemed a shame to waste my collection of many years. But maybe Hudson Rose, mortgage advisers in Stroud (of course) are the future, with their T-shirts, tatts and the boss’s orange mohican. The Damned and Sex Pistols to our Rod Stewart and Genesis? Answers on a proverbial, please.

When I was but a youth, I was often told to enjoy myself before I had the ‘millstone of a mortgage around my neck’. It was then assumed that you’d be dragged down by it for another 25  years, a lifetime when you’re but 25 yourself.
