Despite Trump’s trade wars, I saw no evidence of discord between the Americans and Chinese who made up 90% of the population of Dubrovnik on my short stay this week. This beautiful city is apparently now most famous as the home of ‘Game of Thrones’. I seem to be one of the few not to have spent 74 hours (excluding opening and closing credits) watching it all. Perhaps I should retire an get on with it. Beats gardening and golf.

Are workers working from home more or less productive than those catching the 7.02am to London Bridge every day? ‘Probably sitting at home in their bleedin’ jim-jams’, said someone recently of a less-than-helpful call centre employee, the assumption being that, were they surrounded by colleagues and with a manager cracking the whip, he or she would have sorted his energy bill more efficiently.
