I was wondering this week what some rather more senior clients meant by their ‘weekly Post Office money’. Their state pensions, of course. In the days before Post Offices became stamp sellers hidden in the back of newsagents, it was the GPO and ran Royal Mail, BT before it was BT, distributed benefits of all kinds (in cash) and so much more. Its boss even had a seat in the Cabinet. If it was still what it was, maybe it could sort out the internet, too. Doubt Ofcom will.
